KAKE DANCE Co. is excited to present an opportunity for emerging and established choreographers to submit their work. Our February show, A Piece Of KAKE, will consist of four different artists each night followed by the second half being the premiere of our new work entitled Recalibration. Artistic Director KK will be participating in another CREATORS COLLECTIVE event in early March called 3 to 1: An Artistic One Night Stand. She will be collaborating with two other artists specializing in projection and music. The artists will spend 24 hours creating a piece of work inside the NU Hotel in Brooklyn -- in the lobby, in the hallways, in a hotel room. They will showcase the work-in-progress the night of March 11th and then the event will culminate with brunch on March 12th where the completed work will be shown. While small groups visit the hotel room to view the progress, each artist will also have a chance to showcase work for the rest of the waiting audience. KAKE will be showing "What's Left" performed by Eileen Klugh. It will be an exciting 24 hours! On February 25th KAKE will be performing HYBRID as a guest artist in the original production, The Feels, a showcase featuring the dancers of Touché Taps and the choreography of Shaina Schwartz. The Feels is a show about the way music, people and our environments affect us and make us feel. The event will be at the Arlington Center for the Arts in Arlington, MA. THE CREATORS COLLECTIVE is hosting another dance and film event in Brooklyn -- CC x 101 Bedford.  The evening is a collaboration between the residential building 101 Bedford and four dance film artists. KAKE is thrilled to be one of those four, and will be showing Halfway, along with live dancers to accompany the film. The event takes places Thursday, January 19th at 7:30pm.

Join Artistic Director KK Mayo and company members for a masterclass filled with movement unique to KaKe's style of modern work including intricate footwork sequencing, how to go about structured improvisation including safe contact improv, working with your body to accomadate working with and involving the floor, and learning from company repertoire. The master class will take place at Dempster Hall at Hofstra University from 2-3pm on Saturday November 5th. We hope to see you there!
